Meet Jose R. Correa, M.S. CCC-A

Since establishing The Hearing Group of New Mexico in 2008, Jose R. Correa has worked towards providing a high level of care and service for his patients. The Hearing Group of New Mexico is established with referring physicians throughout New Mexico for diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services, treating pediatric and adult patients from all walks of life. The practice has grown steadily with offices in Albuquerque and Los Lunas, with future plans to expand to other areas of New Mexico.

Jose values his team of seasoned audiologists, who work together with his colleagues providing team evaluations for younger children and sharing ideas in order to develop the best treatment plan for those challenging cases.

Jose is a licensed and board-certified audiologist, bringing 16 years of clinical experience to The Hearing Group of NM. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Communicative Disorders in 1995 through the University of New Mexico, Jose began work toward an advanced degree. He received a Master of Science in Audiology through the University of New Mexico in 1999 and began his clinical practice with The University of New Mexico Hospital. In this diverse medical setting, working primarily within the department of Otolaryngology, Jose focused on pediatric audiology, advanced hearing and balance testing, as well as cochlear implant and hearing aid technology.

Jose is native to New Mexico and lives in Tijeras, New Mexico, with his spouse of 25 years, Melissa, and their daughter. Originally from the small mining community of Hurley, New Mexico, in the southwestern part of the state, Jose has a special interest in providing services to the under-served populations of the region. His ability to speak Spanish offers a unique opportunity to serve in the Albuquerque and Los Lunas areas.

“I consider it a privilege to make a difference in the lives of the people in this community. A particular interest of mine is working with patients who have had difficulty or have been unsuccessful treating their hearing loss in the past due to fit challenges, financial obstacles, or due to unusual circumstances. I consider it a personal challenge and will go to any lengths possible to assure a true solution for their hearing loss. My philosophy is to listen and work together with the patient to develop a custom, tailored treatment plan, keeping in mind the ultimate goal of improving my patient’s quality of life.”
